Member Data Collection – A Partnership between SAWA, the Global Cinema Medium and Nielsen
In November 2011, SAWA and Nielsen launched a comprehensive industry data service with the goal of obtaining world-wide advertising trends for cinema across the globe. The launch of this data service provides members with additional benefits such as the ability to see insights provided from local country perspectives as well as major global opportunities, challenges, and advertisers; all in an easy-to-read user interface. Feedback from SAWA members have been extremely positive to date, and as such, we are now excited to announce that the distribution of the questionnaires to SAWA members has been modified to a bi-annual basis. By expanding the data service to two questionnaires per year, members will always have access to information that is both current and relevant. As this data service continues to grow and become more robust, members will surely be able to leverage the service to assist in advancing cinema advertising both locally and globally.
Now more than ever, Cinema Advertising is in a transition period. Identifying these issues allows us to shed light on the importance of having tools that can be used to help provide transparency in this ever-changing landscape. Though the evolving market poses its challenges, it also establishes many opportunities for growth across the global market as a whole. Based on feedback from SAWA members, we are able to reflect on past trends and foresee new trends going forward.
