The below Industry people make up the SAWA Digital Sub Committee and volunteer their time to set standards and recommendations in the Digital roll-out for Cinema Advertising. SAWA thanks these people for their timeless efforts and dedication to the ensuring the highest level of Digital Deployment for Cinema Advertising is achieved through the publishing of the SAWA Digital Standards and Recommendations document which is now in its 3rd edition and can be found in the members only section..



General Manager, SAWA

Cheryl Wannell initially joined SAWA in 2003 when she relocated to London and in 2006 returned to Australia and now runs the Secretariat from the Sydney Office. In 2004 she became General Manager and is responsible for running the Global Trade body reporting to the Executive Council and the President of SAWA. Previously, Cheryl worked for twenty years with Val Morgan Cinema Advertising based in Australia and was at the time of relocating to the United Kingdom in 2003, Managing Director Worldwide responsible for the eleven operations throughout the world. Her background is in Marketing, Sales and Business Management.



Director of Sales Unique Ltd.

Mark has over 14 years experience within the screen advertising business, both in the European and in the US markets. He has successfully managed projects both in the deployment of E-Cinema and the delivery of advertising to D-Cinema – providing a technical liaison between Exhibitor, advertiser and solution provider. Mark’s current role has focus on developing the integration between pre-show creation and digital presentation in an ever developing market sector.



Managing Director, Julian Pinn Ltd

Julian Pinn Ltd provides technical and strategic consultancy services to a wide range of international clients. Julian has 20 years of experience in the global motion picture industry as an audio and 2D & 3D imaging specialist consulting on hundreds of international movies over their techno-artistic optimization of the medium. Julian is an experienced senior business development and marketing executive operating globally often in complex trading blocs such as China . Amongst his work on a broad spectrum of committees, Julian is the current Chair of ISO standards committee for cinematography (TC36) and is a full voting member of BAFTA.



Chief Executive Officer, adeins Media Logistik GmbH

Enno is a Board member of adeins, a contractor subsidiary of Weischer. Mediengruppe, the German market-leader in cinema advertising. Based in Hamburg, he is also responsible for cinema operations and logistics, the central production department and all activities concerning Digital Cinema of the Weischer Mediengruppe. Previously, Enno has worked for ten years in advertising agencies like McCann-Erickson, D’Arcy and others. He also spent seven years as Marketing Director at Universal Music Germany and other local media companies/ production houses.



Managing Director of Brightfish Belgium

Patrick Van Dijck (45) is the Managing Director of Belgian advertising sales house Brightfish (formerly Screenvision Belgium). Prior to joining Screenvision in 2005 he served as Director Cinema Operations at European cinema advertising network RMB International. He also held different sales and marketing positions within IP Belgium, Sobemap Marketing and ASK BMI.



Chief Executive Officer, CineDavis GmbH

Marlon is CEO of CineDavis GmbH in Dresden, Germany. He has twenty years experience in digital image, video and sound technologies and is now focused on research and development in Digital cinema in collaboration with market leaders in Germany; he is the system architect of the ONEDCN digital cinema system. Marlon has a PhD in Physics from Technical University of Dresden.



Senior. Product Manager for Digital Cinema at Barco.

Tom Bert is the Sr. Product Manager for Digital Cinema at Barco. After a PhD at Ghent University, he worked in different R&D-roles inside Barco before moving to the digital cinema division in 2010. He first worked as Product Marketing Manager, moving in 2015 to Product Management. In this position he leads all activities on Series 2 projectors and Media Servers.



Head of Content & Distribution, DCM UK

Lucy Stern is Head of Content & Distribution at Digital Cinema Media (DCM) with responsibility for all on screen content from production through to distribution. Heading up the production team that converts advertising creative copy to cinema ready spots for distribution to screens across the UK, Lucy works internally and within the industry to understand and foster best practice, ensuring compliance with standards and quality control. As well as developing the 2D to 3D conversion business, Lucy played a pivotal role in DCM’s conversion to digital operations that saw production lead times slashed from three weeks to one week. Lucy has worked in the cinema industry for 11 years.



Director of Sound Engineering at Grand Central Recording Studios, London

Raj Sehgal has been a sound designer and mixer on TV commercials for over 25years and a Cinema mixer for Commercials for 15 years and for trailers for the last 7 years. He was one of the first commercial mixer to mix in 5.1 Dolby Digital and has worked on many Award winning International cinema campaigns including Coca Cola, Nike, Adidas and Heineken. Including Nike’s “Write The Future”. Raj mixes regularly for worldwide territories, one of the experts on worldwide cinema advertising audio specifications.



 Chief Technical Officer at Arts Alliance Media

Rich is a digital cinema technology expert. He joined Arts Alliance Media in 2003 to oversee early digital cinema trials across the UK and to advise on the successful bid for the UK Film Council’s Digital Screen Network, as well as leading the deployment of this project. Since then, Rich has lead AAM’s technology efforts across all business activities, including digital cinema deployments across Europe, content and alternative content distribution activities. Rich also sits on the BKSTS Cinema Technology Committee and is a member of SMPTE.
